We are so pleased to announce our Winter Book Box title selection is An Old Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott.

Published in 1870, this classic book tells the story of country-girl Polly, who comes to visit her friends the Shaws in the city and finds that their lifestyle is different than the one that she is used to at home. As the years go by, Polly's kindness and steadfast friendship influence the Shaws and she herself matures and grows while she learns to adjust to her life in the city. It is a book filled with the warmth of family, cozy domestic scenes, and satisfying resolutions to relationship conflicts. The first time I read it, I kept a copy of it on my nightstand for weeks after I had finished because I didn't want to put it back on my shelf before I had finished thinking about it.

Winter is the perfect time to cozy up with a classic during the chilly, quiet days of the season.
